Embun [dew | d(y)oŏ| noun - /moisture condensed upon the surfaces of
cool bodies especially at night; something resembling dew in purity,
freshness, or power to refresh./] v1.1 is based on dapper drake and was
released 15 Dec 2006 in response to our 'postal services' feedback ~
u-'buntu' to the layman meant 'tak jalan' :-P. We incorporated Malay
language/dictionary support for OOo, Chinese character support for
Firefox, non-free codecs, network-manager for out-of-the box GUI support
for wired and wireless networking and a myriad of UI changes to match
'Embun's /purity and freshness./
Embun v2.0 is scheduled for release mid-June and will be based on feisty
fawn. Included will be the enhancements incorporated into v1.1 as well as:-
- Better support for Windoze file sharing (the default in dapper and
edgy had various 'bugs')
- Antivirus for on-access protection
- Firewall console
Ezwan, I'd check my facts before shooting from the hip. Contributions
come in all forms and sizes ... even raising the visibility of OSS is
contribution with due credit given. We do not need to publicise our
contributions back to the community ...
