Okay,
I also have a few job openings to advertise.
I'm looking for people (around 3-4) who would like to do storage
administration. Specifically NFS and CIFS/SAMBA stuff.
The following criteria is a good indicator of characters suited for this
job:
- Has basic knowledge of TCP/IP, network trunking.
- Has good knowledge and/or experience of UNIX/linux/*BSD administration.
(If you are really strong, even better)
- Has basic understanding of storage technologies, eg. SAN, NAS, FC, SCSI,
RAID. Preferably some experience with enterprise-class storage management.
- Has some knowledge/experience with simple scripting or reporting languages
(Perl, Sed, Awk, etc)
- Has strong interest to learn new technologies.
- Has strong English speaking/writing skills (will have to communicate with
non-malay speaking people on daily basis)
Job description
- The job is based in Cyberjaya.
- It is a contract based job. Contract workers have good potential of
turning permanent, (based on work track record).
- It is for a very big multinational.
- The job is to manage a large number of NAS storage appliances globally
(mainly in Malaysia, Netherlands and US though).
- The job also allows users to work with a lot of high-end technologies
(disk-to-disk backup, SRM, virtual storage management)
- The job requires candidates to be on standby based on turn basis. (standby
means getting a mobile phone for people to call you in case of emergencies.
You can be on standby and still be at home with your family/friends)
Anybody interested can contact me to get more information. Don't send me the
resumes. I'm just helping out a good buddy here.
p/s: If anyone from the same company asks you to join the global UNIX/linux
team, please say NO! We need people too.
Thanks!
