YOu know.. I guess this depends highly on the field of work. Eg : If you
were doing sales and you have to go entertain clients, (read :
nightclubs, karaoke, etc etc..) this may come as a requirement else how
to close deals??
Then what about the adage that majority of (big) business deals are
conducted and closed on the golf course?
I've even read a study (they study everything don't they??) that says
that on average, ppl who smoke/drink and socialise outside the working
office environment is more able to bring in more dough due to a larger
networking & social circle and a greater oppurtunity to slip in that
one-off sales pitch amid some hard-core beer-drinking-cum
smoke-till-the-cows-come-home games?

It's a waste of time and money if you ask me. And what's more, 2nd hand
smoke!!
