Dear all,
The Malaysian National Computer Confederation (MNCC) is organizing an
evening talk on *'Mobile Phone Forensics For Dummies: A DIY and a Basic
Introduction'* as the first of the series of Evening Talks planned for
the year 2007. Details of the evening talk are as follows:
*Title*: Mobile Phone Forensics For Dummies: A DIY and a Basic Introduction
*Synopsis*: Mobile phone forensics is a newer branch in the computer
forensics field. With the increased features and capabilities in today's
mobile phones, they have become a personal necessity rather than a
luxury. From communications, capturing vivid moments, listening to music
and storing personal info, a mobile phone is a living virtual diary of
someone's existence.Due to these, most forensic experts believe that a
high percentage of information on criminal activities are captured in
mobile phones. For example, hate SMSs, captured pictures of child
pornography with the date, location and duration either made or
received. All of this events, can be constituted as creating a time-line
and motives that supports a criminal case.
This particular presentation focuses more towards giving awareness on
mobile phone forensics as well as techniques and tools used to do mobile
phone forensics. Finally, there will also be a simple demo on how to DIY
mobile phone forensics without having to use expensive tools.
